The work of Anish Kapoor so often deals with the infinity of holes, the voluption of volcanoes Insides spilling out, versus outsides falling in.. Especially where I don't want to look.. And these moments, where we cannot escape being implicated in what is before us... Oh how one building can hold multitudes, including the clarity of death And I emerge from these trompes d'oielle into the trusting humanism of earlier centuries..
This is not the most beautiful of my photos, but it is one of the most comforting: old and new, soft and hard, water and stone, bodies and light we are all here together but in this one moment, nothing has more meaning than the fact that we are juxtaposed. Even, if and when Venice drowns, in the future; if and when, we become no more
